Union Station Swing Band is honored to receive the
President's Trophy for the 2011 LBLGP Parade
Several prizes are awarded to floats, including the President’s Award, which is the parade’s top award. "The President’s Award is given to the entry that displays the most prestige or valor, and has shown through their organization a commitment to the LGBT cause and community," Grugett said. Other awards include the Rainbow Award, which is given to the float that has best use of rainbows and the Stonewall Award, which Grugett said is given to the entry that “best demonstrates our rights and freedoms that we have won and continue to fight for."
Have a rousing good time!

Brian Bittker, vocalist
A 17 piece swing orchestra playing the great music of the Glenn Miller Band, Count Basie Orchestra, and Artie Shaw among others, the Union Station Swing Band performs the hits of the 30's & 40's all the way up through the popular music of today.
If you like Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman then we are the band for you. Throw in more great dance tunes from the 50s and 60s and you are in for some wonderful entertainment
We are a traditional 17 piece big band with 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, keyboard, bass, rhythm guitar and drums.
Booking the band is easy. We think you will be pleasantly surprised by our rates, and since we are a non-profit organization, many times the cost of hiring the band can be tax deductible (see your tax professional for details). The cost depends upon playing time, travel, and finishing time. Call Alison Jordan (562-761-7320) or email (ajandfran@gmail.com) us to discuss your requirements.
One thing to be aware of is how much space a 17 piece band takes up - around 22 feet of stage width. We can be flexible about numbers if your space is limited.
